I won't make any promises about posting regularly. Just whenever the spirit moves me.

A Moment with the Cards: Flamingo in Winter

Snow and ice covered the ground outside of my home when I pulled the Flamingo card from my animal oracle deck. I laughed when I turned the card over because the absurdity of this card appearing in the middle of such circumstances was as ironic as it was symbolic for what’s happening in my personal and professional lives. It is as reflective of my new adoptive name, Sparkle Noir, as it is a message of encouragement for anyone who comes across this. A Shallow Dive Instead of a Deep One To start out on the shallow end of the pool of Flamingo spiritual symbolism, let’s take a look at the color scheme. Pretty much all the flamingos I’ve seen are bright pink birds with long legs. They are known for being able to stand on one leg for long periods. Brightness and balance are what I immediately think of when I see this card. A widespread snowstorm has covered half of the United States, yet here is this card sent as a reminder to remain optimistic even in the cold and dark days. While many...

A Moment with the Cards: A Good Cry Is a Spiritual Bath Part II - Empathy & Heart of Gold

Lately, when I pull oracle cards, I find myself not fully reading into them right away. I’ll take mental notes of my first impressions, but I really have to let them marinate for a few days or even a few weeks. That’s exactly the case for the cards I’m about to share today. First, let me call back a reading I called A Good Cry is a Spiritual Bath because it is relevant. Tears play a huge role in my interpretation of these cards today. The cards for today are Empathy from Paradise Oracle and Heart of Gold from Oracle of Great Mystics. A Shallow Dive Instead of a Deep One Visually, both cards exude softness, which is what one would expect from empathy, I hope. When someone tells you that you have a heart of gold, they usually mean that you have great personality characteristics that are marked by kindness and generosity. For the sake of time-saving, I won’t do a deep dive on my interpretation of this because my personal reflections will say more than anything I could possibly imag...

Hijacked by a Moon Goddess: A Leo Full Moon Reading Featuring Another Big Cat

Three cards. Big feline energy that’s reaching for the top in front of the Polynesian moon goddess. What’s funny about this is that I was pulling for another “moment with the cards” session, but these cards align so well with the full moon in Leo happening on February 1, 2026. Coincidence? I think not. A Shallow Dive Instead of a Deep One Let’s start with a little backstory and symbolism. The three cards in this reading are from three respective decks, and only two of them were intentional by me. The third one, Hina, came as a surprise. I’ll elaborate further a little later. The Jaguar from the Spirit Animal Oracle shows up as an agent of power and prowess. The Achievement card comes from the Paradise Oracle , which is a deck that I like to pull from every so often when I’m looking more for advice than I am energetic vibes. This card is depicted with two giraffes, one taller than the other, standing together in front of a tree. The taller giraffe is eating fruit from a higher position...
